An exquisite Darjeeling first flush also called “Champagne of Teas,” is made from fine quality AV2 bushes at Gopaldhara Tea Estate. The bushes are fresh out of hibernation from a prolonged winter of four months- December to March. The first flush, also known as the spring flush, yields 100% growing shoots and excellent buds with either a single leaf or two leaves and a bud. The flavor is prominent as the weather is also arid and cool, which ensures slow growth.
The garden workers are very careful in plucking by hand to ensure only the best shoots with prominent buds are plucked. The plucking is of such fine quality that the tea can only be hand-sorted, and the machines used to make the tea are very rare. Darjeeling First Flush Teas are known to be slightly oxidized. This tea is also made the same way, but it is sufficiently oxidized to ensure that its exquisite flavors are prominently present.
The tea consists of finely plucked tippy leaves with a silvery appearance and brews into a golden amber cup. It has a refined fruity flavor topped off with a finish of natural honey; the tea has a lingering and pleasant sweet aftertaste with zero astringency. A refreshing and lively tea that will rejuvenate your soul!
